PAM
BOWMAN
My work pushes against autobiographical memories of domesticity. The complexities and ironies of women's choices elicit in me divided feelings, yet I revere the role of caregiver in the home. I strive to express this value by creating spiritual environments which also offer obeisance to the history of Western aesthetic judgement. My process and materials render explicit my commitment to repetitive work, labor intensive processes, fiber, wood, and hand gathered materials. The gathering and the repetition address the memories of my hands as well as the work performed by the hands of women throught history. Contact Info.
